How much does it cost?
The t-spec comes in two versions, a roller and a kit. The roller retails for $99.99 it comes factory assembled with wheels and tires, for this you will need a radio, ESC,
motor, and battery of choice. The Kit retails for around $119.99, it comes with everything thing the roller has plus a 19T spec motor, battery and body. You will need a radio and ESC for this one.
What should be upgraded first?
The t-spec comes pretty much setup out of the box, double check the suspension settings as the camber on one wheel on mine was off a tiny bit. I would recommend some softer springs. Fortunately, springs from a TC3 are a perfect fit.
Where do I get parts?
Being a spec car there is no aftermarket for this car, some parts from a TC3 fit but not all. Replacement parts can be ordered straight from Trinity.
What problems will I face with the T-spec?
The big problem is the lack of parts. Aside from that, there really is not much else; I have managed to beat the heck out of mine without much problem. The stock springs on the car are really too hard for drifting and cause a lot of spin out. Either change the springs to softer TC3 springs or adjust the preload on the front springs to about 2mm and get used to the handling.
What is your overall impression of the car?
This is a great car for drifting, the diffs that come with it are ball diffs that are almost tight enough to be locked (which is good for drifting). The lack of parts kind of sucks, the car comes with a spur gear to use either standard or metric pinions, both are 72T. With a 27T motor and some ABS tires this car drifts great, they are long and predictable. It is an overall great
car for a beginner on a budget.
