Yokomo have released the latest news to the masses and what has been revealed is great news. They have decided to replicate the Droop/Espelir AE86 as their next D1 Replica bodyshell. This great car, loved by many, will obviously be very popular and the fact that the 1:1 car is a coupe puts more excitement into the news. Will Yokomo release an AE86 Trueno Coupe? I hope so, we'll have to wait and see.

Series - IMPORTANT NEWS - 01/09/06

D1RC are pleased to announce that the issue of the Round 5 location has now been resolved. With help from Dez Chand (RRCi) and John Guest (Snetterton MCC), we now have a venue that is willing to host our competition. The new location is Snetterton Model Car Club, one of, if not the biggest and best Radio Control Car track in the country. Although in a different area of the UK from what was originally planned, moving the venue to the Norfolk region from the Northhampton area, D1RC feel that the upgrades in quality of venue far surpass the further distance for some people to travel. We hope this hasn't caused much inconvenience and we wish that you are now as excited as we are. To keep updated to the minute, visit the 2006 Drift Series sub-forum within the DRCCentral main forum. Thank you.

Series - IMPORTANT NEWS - 15/08/06

If you have read the breaking news released by D1GB yesterday regarding venue and date changes for their 5th round of the championships, you will know that the Rockingham event in September has now been cancelled and moved to the Trax Event at Silverstone on 2nd/3rd September. This came as a surprise to most people involved and D1RC are currently working to resolve the problem of where our Round 5 will now be held.

We are hoping that the Trax organisers will be able to accomodate our needs at Silverstone on 2/3 September but, as we understand that D1GB are not the event 'owners', we are also looking into other possible venues should Trax not be willing to accomodate us.

Please be assured we are doing our best to resolve this problem and we will make announcement just as soon as we have further details.

D1RC have received the latest scoop on Yokomo's new RE-Amemiya FD3S RX7 bodyshell. After a lot of speculation following a photo of Suenaga standing alongside the Yokomo sponsored car, Yokomo have finally released the information that the bodyshell will, in fact, be made. Suspicion rose yesterday when Yokomo released news of their plans to make the Enkei RP-03 wheel which is part of the RE-Amemiya car. This news will make the r/c drifting world go nuts as many people love seeing the RX7 sideways up against the other top guns. The release date is not set yet but be patient, if you have been waiting for the other Yokomo shells you'll know what I mean...

D1RC are very pleased to announce that Radio Race Car International magazine have joined our other two key sponsors in supporting the 2006 Drift Series.

The magazine will be covering the series on a monthly basis starting with the next release and has very generously agreed to supply the trophies for the entire series. These include, for each of the six rounds, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Drift Competition, 1st Time Attack, Best Drift Shell & Best Chassis. That's a lot of 'silver' up for grabs!

Many thanks goes out to the RRCi management and, in particular, Dez Chand (RRCi editor) for his great assistance and for the support he has given us so far.
