hi every one,new to this site ,been reading up on drifting for a while

im in a bit of a dilema in choosing my car,

i have the chance of a great price on a cyclone, few spares, and great nick,

but also the chance of the TA05 Ver II,standard new in box,

now i wont be doing competitions, but who knows,i just want a decent spec car, instead of throwing my money on say a tt01,which both of these cars are gonna cost me very close to a tto1 price,

would really love to hear your opions on these two cars please

thanks

Well, since you won't be drifting competitively, you might as well go for a shaft drive car, less things to take care of in them.

I've got the TA05 IFS V1. It's really good out of the box. And it really doesn't need many upgrades, a spool and a one way is all you'll need at first, then you can upgrade the shocks and begin to add bling.

But if the Cyclone TC is as cheap as the TA05, then I'd say go for the TC. Unless you want to get the TA05 and upgrade it, and feel the improvement.

This is the only question I guess..

Do you really want to worry about driving a reaaally high end car in the parking lot? Or would you rather breathe easy with a less expensive, plastic tub car?

Thanks thats a fair point, but for what a tt01 will cost me,eg shaft, tyres, decent shocks etc, i will be getting close to the price of the two cars ive mentioned, and would rather have a car with better adjustments, but like you say, tt will be fine for car parks, but like i said, one day i may do competitions, i love being part of a group and getting involed in things like that, so im in the thinking of getting something a little better now, so im set up for what may lie ahead.

i dont want to go the route of buying cheaper now, upgrading etc, only to sell it all at a lost for something a better,

i have a tt at present of my son,as i bought a tt01d for my him,but the tt as a few issues with it,which is not worth spending the money for the bits i need to get it running again,

this as a few upgrades on it which i will be selling to go towards a new car instead

i did have a top end nitro truggy etc,but got rid as it was a waste,as i could not see myself entering races, and too much money to just bash around, i see driting a easier way of enter comps,so i do fancy a bit of that for sure,

you quoted(Unless you want to get the TA05 and upgrade it, and feel the improvement)

are you saying the ta05 perfoms better than the tc when upgraded

thanks for the input

There are conversion kits out there, like the OTA-R and Square... For the TA05 that is... With that, yeah, I guess it will be much butter than the TC.

But with no conversion kits, a graphite chassis and alloy bulkheads and other important bits, the TA05 will be just as good as the TC at drifting...

The TA05 has won the DRC best chassis award you know...
