Hi there one new noob here xD, im going to build my first rc, although i have drifted my cousin's tto1d, so its not really new to me the drifting part, the part of building one of my one is, and because i want to build one for me, i need help.. I don't really want a rtr, because first i learn much more building my one car, and the remote for example i will buy a 2.4ghz so if i build any other car, is one less thing to spend money..
For chassis, i saw the tamiya ta05 that have a good price tag, but what to choose the ta05 or ta05 v2? a good thing about the ta05 is the square drift conversion.. Another one i saw was the cyclone s chassis. Another one i saw was a team magic chassis.
I would like a chassis that don't have any limitations of tuning, a car with many up parts available so that i can easily find stuff for the car in online shop, because if i have the stuff in a lhs great, but the first place i look is the internet lol because most of the time lhs dont have what i want lol
On top of all, a well balanced chassi, smooth driving, and that do what i want it to do..
From what i read in here, many people like the ta05 (belts), the tb03? (shaft), cyclone.. dont remember more. But one thing i like and that is the new chassis style like the square ta05 drift conversion chassis.. and with the ta05 i have that choice.
Help me here people xD
Thank you.
oh and by the way, sorry my english.

Wow...Schumacher or Team Majic for your 1st chassis? Those are pretty expensive.
Here's my opinion. I would stick with either the Cyclone or TA-05. While the schumacher is a great car, it's a lot of money to be dumping into a chassis that's your first one. Now, if money is no object, then I guess it really doesn't matter.
I wouldn't go with the Team Magic chassis. The biggest problem is that finding parts are REALLY hard to find (at least here it's hard to find). Not a lot of hobby stores carry it. So unless you know a shop that carries everything for the chassis, you'll have to find parts online, and even then it can be challenging.
HPI/Hotbodies and Tamiya are more common in hobby stores. There are plenty of options, as well as 3rd party manufacturers that make parts for it.

Im not going to buy team magic exactly because of the parts being dificult to find.. And when i asked about Schumacher and team magic was just for asking xD
I think im going to the tamiya ta05 with ezrun motor and esc combo.

You won't go wrong with a TA05, Street Jam OTA-R is prob a more popular conversion to drift spec for this chassis.
I must just say though if you are going to do this conversion as soon as you buy it why not just go out and buy an HPI Pro-D, Hot Bodies TC-D or Alex Racing CER straight out, I would say the cost would be comparitive and the chassis already has the forward motor mount.
My advice would be to go standard TA05, have a tinker and hop-up, loads of blue alloy out there, if you are still wanting more in a year or so sell the TA and buy one of the above.

I would second that.
The TA05 is a very drift-able chassis, and can be easily converted for counter-steer.
The weight balance is very good making it very forgiving when you make any mistakes.
If you have access to a TA05, grab it! as it is cheaper than the v2.
TA05 is definitely on my "next chassis to get" list..

Yeah...I agree with the above. I have a stock TA that I'm currently working on for countersteer. There's a TON of parts available.
c9vev brings up a good point too. If you're looking for something that has all the hop up parts right out the box, something like the HPI-Pro D is a good choice. Even though I'm not an HPI fan, I have to admit, that's a great looking chassis.

Well i may in the future buy the ota r or square drift chassis, but for now i think the best is to buy something that like a level down to those, drift with the chassis until i feel i have the skills to justify a chassis of that kind.
True that i was thinking about building the car from scratch with a cf chassis, buti think is a expensive thing to buy with the level of experience i have with rc drifting.
All the things have their time xD
Another thing is that i dont have all the cnollege about tech stuff, so buying all that expensive parts is wrong.. i want like to start from above..
Another question, the tao5 can handle the ezrun combo stock? or i need to buy another motor mount? Or a better way to put it, if i buy the ta-05 and i want to put it a ezrun motor, what parts are needed to make it work (parts that stock cant handle with that motor, etc..)?
By the way thanks for the help!!

the ezrun can fit straight in

because i heard some people saying that with some powerfull motors the motor mount would like twist and stuff.

Most on road motors made for 1/10th scale will fit the TA. As for power, I've never heard of the mount twisting, unless it was installed incorrectly or something was wrong with the center shaft...

I think i read that in a topic about the tt01d..
Anyway, now i know that i can put the motor on the chassis completely stock.
