Just wondering, how many people has this happened to? Both my old roomates had thier xbox pop, mine just went and i bought it nine months ago ... if microsoft wants $$$ to fix, you may see a youtube video of xbox destruction by .556 ... no joke, kinda angry enough to do it at this point

My Xbox has been serving me loyally for a good 3 years now. Chipped and equipped with a 200gb drive it holds lotsa games but it primarily serves as media center, streaming stuff from computers onto TV etc. All the functions I need and more, I love it!

I have heard the x360's are pretty crap and generally spend more time at the servicedepot then under the tv..

I have been the victim of this, I am afraid. This only happens on the earlier models, one made in the years of 2006 and below. When it happened to me, I was still under warrenty, but I was about a week away from the 6 month mark. So it was free for the fix. I got a completely brand new, never before been touched 360, and I was really happy about that! If you have the Read Ring of Death, then Microsoft should fix it for free for you, as long as it's in the years of 2006 and less. Check the date it was made on the back. Xbox 360 equals MEGA FUN!!! :D

my psp is broke *sad* i will fix it for the better tho(broken screen and headphone jack and will get a clear fascia) i also bought it broke for 25 bucks...not bad

my cousin gave me an xbox 360 last week cause of the 3 red lights blinking. so he bought a new one. i called the microsoft. gave the serial number and some info. nxt day a box came in to ship my xbox. they will repair it for FREE if you have the 3 red light.

They fix em' for free if they have the 3 red lights, I sent mine in on wednesday or thursday... either way it's on it's way to texas.

I've sent mine back for a 2nd time now! Reading the Xbox website, the warranty is now 3 years against the ring of death, Microsoft have set aside $1.3billion to repair consoles!

Yeah mine took a about 9 months ago and I sent it in for repair. they had an announcement on their "waiting music" about extending the warranty out 3 years from the purchase date of your box for 3 blinking lights. Send it in and have er fixed!

PS3 all the way!!!!!!!!!!

^^^ PS3 is far Superior but had a bad launch so its playing caught up
